Eulalia Rose Nutter ("Lollie") was born in Carroll, Iowa, on October 15, 1900 or 1901, the daughter of Edward Nutter and Otillia Zerwas. The Nutter family moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, before 1910. During World War I, Eulalia R. Nutter corresponded with several United States servicemen, including sailors Andrew C.
